Your new role
For this role you will need to inspect sites and evaluate the proposals and sustainability of the building for structural alterations. You will supervise and enforce building regulations and associated legislation, calculate the fee to be charged to the client and check that charges submitted with applications are correct, examine plans, drawings, specifications and other documents submitted for approval to make sure they comply with building regulations and report accordingly, inspect buildings against regulations for public health, fire safety, energy conservation, sustainability and building accessibility, and advise applicants on changes to ensure legal requirements are met.

What you'll need to succeed
For this role you will need thorough knowledge of the building regulations and related legislation. You will also need to demonstrate abilities and expert knowledge in structural engineering, fire safety, access and facilities for the disabled and knowledge on building services. You also need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work in a team and provide customer orientated services in a responsible and professional manner.
