Your new company
A health and care regulator and statutory regulator for the optical profession in the UK. They are responsible for protecting the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct amongst opticians and maintaining public confidence in the profession. They currently have a need for a qualified casework Lawyer to start ASAP, initially on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Your new role
As the Casework Lawyer, you will provide legal services to support the case progression function, comprising of specialist legal advice on Fitness to Practise (FTP) matters and legal advice on policies and procedures within the case progression department. You will sign off all FTP case plans including reviewing and providing legal advice and feedback on initial case plans drafted by case officers. Finally, you will provide legal support on the developing and implementation of new processes and policies within FTP case progression.
What you'll need to succeed

* Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with current practising certificate
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Relevant experience: eg managing cases, giving legal or procedural advice, drafting legal or process documents, and\/or making presentations
* A demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
* Good Microsoft office skills
