Head of Market Engagement Government job

Your new company
I am partnered with an exciting government client which is planning to hire a huge team of professionals for a large-scale construction project. This is an organisation whose work is impactful and will greatly affect members of the public. Currently, they are actively recruiting a Head of Market Engagement to run a small team who will establish and deliver Social Value and investment strategies. Initially, you will be working remotely and in future, there will be a mix of on-site (London) and remote working.

Your new role
The role will involve leading and developing the Market Engagement Strategy, as well as developing a supplier assurance strategy and innovative ways of tracking and promoting UK-wide spend. You will be leading strategies and establishing their targets and assessment approaches in collaboration with senior colleagues, and leading and overseeing engagement mechanisms to keep suppliers informed of the programme and requirements. Also involved will be leading external supply chain consultants to provide professional services, and regular contacts with individuals at various levels. The role may develop as the programme progresses, so other reasonable duties may be required.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you must have a professional CIPS qualification and substantial demonstrable experience of market engagement and supply chain management activities, including major works and related professional services in a large-scale programme or a multi-billion-pound complex organisation. You will need advanced supply chain knowledge, experience of works contracts for the delivery of major refurbishment projects, and evidenced experience of negotiating commercial agreements to support the requirements of a business.
