Head of Property and Development with Local Authority in Greater London

Your new company
A highly regarded London Borough planning team is looking for a Head of Property and Development to join them on a temporary basis, initially for six months.

Your new role
As the Head of Property and Development you will lead the department to ensure that services are commercially focused and comply with the council's statutory and contractual obligations, in line with best practice. You will be managing three Senior Lawyers whilst supporting the Director of Law and Governance in the discharge of the Monitoring Officer's statutory functions. Furthermore, you will manage and monitor budgets and act as the Legal Officer at the planning committee meetings, acting as the main point of contact with Senior Planning and Regeneration Officers as well as being involved with major section 106 negotiations.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced Solicitor or Barrister having managed a team in the public or private sector. You will also have budget management experience. Furthermore, you will also have extensive experience advising and undertaking complex cases or projects within regeneration, property and planning, S106 agreements and development agreements as well as corporate law matters including local government law.
