MRICS Building Surveyor - Residential - Central London

Your new company
I am representing a real estate financial services practice, which has been engaged to execute the active asset management and subsequent disposal of a large, high value, UK based residential portfolio. An opportunity has arisen for an energetic, proactive MRICS-qualified individual to assist the Technical team with the asset management, contract administration and procurement process, carrying out targeted asset value enhancement strategies.

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Regeneration, your main responsibilities will involve:

* Contractors relationship management
* Contract administration
* Line management of Assistant QS

Pre-Contract

* Maintain contractor database
* Client briefing
* Conduct measured surveys
* Prepare and manage tender
* Prepare specifications in collaboration with the architects
* Post tender negotiations

Contract

* Administer the terms of building contract during the progress of works.
* Maintain contract documentation
* Manage contractual communication and issue of contractual letters to clients and \/ or contractors
* Works progress monitoring and reporting
* Cost control
* Post contract liaison with clients
* Post contract liaison with design team
* Preparation and submission of interim\/ final valuations
* Manage and value variations
* Agreement and certification of contractor's interim valuations and final accounts
* Agreement, preparation and submission of final accounts
* Defects liability period management.

What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum 2:1 Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in real estate or related field (Real Estate Management, Planning, Building Surveying), or relevant real estate experience
* MRICS, at least 3 years qualified QS
* Very good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building and Civil Engineering industry
* Very good working knowledge of standard forms of measurement
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
* Excellent verbal and written English skills
* Well-developed communication skills
* Experience managing people
