A leading London high-profile council in the London area is looking for a platform specialist to support council production service, Office 365 collaboration applications, SAAS applications, Council's network, backups and internet security infrastructure while ensuring high levels of systems availability.

Your new role

As part of the Platforms team which is part of the wider overall IT services function, you as the Platform Specialist will be responsible participate in strategic technology activity, road mapping, formulating and creating good governance structure while maintaining the tech support team. You will use your expertise to manage, advise allocate tasks and plan the use of resources.

You will be responsible to ensure day to day running's of the Council servers, operating systems, cloud environments, applications, network environments, backups and internet security infrastructure. You will have influence over \u00A38m pounds of budget across day-to-day operational contracts and capital projects.

The successful candidate will also head-up the development and implementation of processes that allow issues to be identified early and resolved efficiently.

You will be in charge of Co-ordinating the administration processes between key internal and external stakeholders in line with Council's policies and procedures ensuring legal compliance.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have prior experience in being a subject matter expert as a Platform Specialist ] monitoring and influencing revenue expenditure on Microsoft cloud platforms and outsourced partners (LAN\/WAN, Applications Management, Azure platform support).

The council is seeking a Platform Specialist who will also represent the ICT operations service at the CAB on change approval and expenditure. You will also directly contribute to the budget management for the Azure and O365 environments including, correct license use, cost saving and implementation of cost reducing measures.

We are essentially looking for an Azure Platform Specialist who has prior background and experience ideally working across local government or the wider public sector.

You will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
