Policy Manager | ASAP Start | Hybrid Working | 12 Month FTC - Inside IR35 | \u00A347,383 - \u00A355,745 per annum

Your new company

We have an exciting policy manager - regulatory reform position opportunity within a non-profit organisation.

Our core role is to regulate. First, we promote high professional standards across the UK. Second, we maintain the register of professionals eligible to practise. Third, we investigate when things goes wrong - something that affects less than one percent of professionals each year.

To regulate well, we support our professions and the public. We create resources and guidance that are useful throughout people's careers, helping them to deliver our standards in practice and address new challenges. We also support people involved in our investigations, and we're increasing our visibility, so people feel engaged and empowered to shape our work.

Regulating and supporting our professions allows us to influence the public sector space. We share intelligence from our regulatory activities and work with our partners to support workforce planning and sector-wide decision making. We use our voice to speak up for a healthy and inclusive working environment for our professions.

Your new role

We have long called for the legislative and regulatory framework of professional regulators to be modernised. This is now happening, and we are working closely with a main Central Government Department to make major changes that will allow us to become a more flexible and responsive regulator.

This key role will sit in our regulatory reform team, providing management of the various policy areas arising out of the above work. The role-holder will be expected to identify policy gaps that arise in the change process, develop policies, impact assessments and engagement material and work in partnership with colleagues and our stakeholders to deliver our reform aims.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for a senior policy professional who has substantial experience of developing policies, impact assessments, and consultation and engagement material as well as working with legislation. You will be committed to excellence, solutions-focused with a positive and proactive approach, and have excellent stakeholder management skills. Most importantly, you will have a commitment to, and understanding of the importance of equality and opportunity within the environment that the non-profit organisation operates.

You will also have the opportunity to identify areas for improvement and be offered training and development from your peers.

* Experience of working with policy and legislation
* Experience of managing and leading multiple work streams
* Experience of producing written material for a range of audiences, including papers, reports, analyses and impact assessments.
* Experience of working in multi-disciplinary and professional environments and across different teams.
