£48,000 - £53,000 + package
A building service specialist working in the industrial, commercial & residential industries are looking for a BMS Service Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis due to growth.
The focus of the role is on the London service and maintenance portfolio although there may be a requirement to support our maintenance and small project works nationwide, either through remote team working or site attendance.
You will be working on a mix of industrial and commercial building automation control systems ranging from traditional HVAC for commercial buildings and hotels to smoke control automation systems in the rail environment.
The role includes a degree of self-scheduling and coordination, liaising with site engineering teams, site coordinators and client representatives. This includes both the technical aspects and responsibility for Health and Safety matters relating to the works we undertake on site, with close involvement in creating and approving RAMS for site works and conducting toolbox talks / managing any additional operatives included within our scope of works.
Responsibilities
Annual planned and reactive maintenance of automated building control systems at client sites.
BMS fault finding including field equipment and cabling, panel wiring, panel components and software.
Conduct changes to electrical circuity, undertake panel and field device modifications.
Provide remote assistance to clients, building operators and onsite technicians.
Formal reporting to engineering team and clients following maintenance and remedial works.
Compiling risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) in preparing to go to site and maintaining good practice and adherence to RAMS whilst on site.
Identify and report on system upgrade opportunities and ongoing system improvements.
Design, plan and implement system upgrades.
Requirements
The ability to work and collaborate remotely (home office) and manage own workload.
Proven track record of electrical control panel installation and function.
Good understanding and experience of mechanical building services.
Knowledge of electrical principles.
Certified and experience in Triduum (N4) and ability to access and evaluate software and graphics.
Out of hours and night shifts as required.
Reactive call outs of up to 4 working hours' notice.
Proficient in MS Office and good general computer skills.
Proficient in remote access programs, networking and conversant in BMS protocols.
Relevant qualifications.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Good attention to detail.
Comfort in learning new technologies as to become proficient in desktop systems/internal software necessary to successfully perform assigned tasks and collaborate with remote team.
Desirable
BCIA (or similar) BMS Engineering qualifications.
Experience of LON Networks.
Experience of software platform such as Coach AX and CARE.
Experience of Beckhoff control systems (equivalent Codesys).
Ambitions to manage and run a team.
Available to travel and work away from home for which a driving license is essential.
