Your new role
As Senior Category Manager you will establish a shared service able to improve the quality of a wide range of procurement services and the provision of advice. You will also deliver a more cost-effective procurement and supply chain solution and enhance the non-pay benefits to each Trust. You will also undertake a large range of procurement projects (tendering) to achieve value added and cash releasing savings from service efficiencies (benefits) to the Trust as well as service development to improve the profile and scope of the Trust.

In this role you will support provide specialist and professional procurement advice to other Trust Staff, procurement team members, directors, and senior management. Ensuring procurement compliance across all Partner Trusts with European\/UK procurement law and the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders in any procurement activity undertaken. You will also be responsible for contributing to a wide range of external relationships, notably NHS Supply Chain, GPS, health care suppliers, consultants, and the Trust advisers.

What you'll need to succeed
The Senior Category Manager will need expertise in Clinical and Non-clinical categories; this will include in-depth market knowledge of suppliers, products, and services within local, European and global markets. You will also have a proven record of delivery within this field of expertise and significant evidence of achievement of savings delivery in the same. To be successful in this role you will also need:

* Experienced in Hard\/Soft FM (Facilities Management)
* Experience working for the NHS or similar healthcare environment (Desirable)
* Strong knowledge of OJEU regulations
