My client is a leading Life Insurer and they are looking for a Support Services Manager to join their existing team and take the ownership of the end-to-end delivery of Support and Incident Management across several IT applications and support services.

Reporting to the Director of IT Applications Support, you will monitor service, provide, and identify opportunities across IT and the wider Technology function to drive operational and service excellence. You will also play a key strategic and operational role as part of the IT delivery to the business stakeholders.

Main Duties:

  • Work alongside and support the IT Applications Support Director to assist in managing end to end service across several applications and enterprise-wide software.
  • Support the IT Applications Support Director in the management of IT related projects
  • Drives proactive engagement across Technology and the global Business Units.
  • Act as a point of escalation for the business into the IT Support service and drive resolution and improvement opportunities where applicable.
  • Acts as the Incident Manager for IT.
  • Play an active role in the event of an IT issue/outage to ensure customer communication is proactive and business impact is assessed and managed appropriately and fed into the technical resolvers or to support partners.

Required skills/experience:

  • Seasoned application support manager with experience supporting global systems
  • Has taken on deputy responsibilities and team lead roles
  • Expert level experience in customer engagement and establishing/maintaining relationships.
  • Matrix management of multiple team teams.
  • A continual improvement mindset and high levels of customer focus.
  • Experience of working with internal and external partners to drive service excellence.
  • A strong focus on outstanding service and prior experience of driving significant improvements in service delivery.
  • Ability to drive change and process improvement in a maturing environment
  • Able to identify risks and challenges and to mitigate appropriately
