Job description

A multi-award-winning independent fire engineering company in London are now seeking a BIM Manager to join their technically gifted Fire engineer team.

The BIM & Technology Manager will head up the development and deployment of BIM on major projects and programmes, delivering client outcomes which mutually benefit the support chain and add value to project.

This is a unique role to be at the sharp end of fundamental shifts in fire & life safety. You will play an instrumental role in shaping and transforming the current practices of our industry specifically relating to how:

Fire & life safety information is integrated and coordinated in building information modelling (BIM) in order improve fire safety in buildings,
Fire & life safety information is digitally recorded and accessible through the operational phase of buildings using our very own digital fire & life safety management platform - TFS ComplianceBoth areas are critical to retaining the golden thread of information form RIBA stage 1 - 7.

Key Duties

The role will also include:

Liaising with external parties such as BIM Alliance, digital construction groups and others to influence how fire safety is incorporated in BIM.
The ability to passionately communicate with our key stakeholders how fire safety products effectively and enthusiastically can drive the cultural and behaviour shift in the fire & life safety industry.
Scaling TFS Compliance in the UK and globally.
Developing our fire engineering teams to provide digital advisory services through RIBA 1-7 enabling the project teams we are involved with to deliver high quality BIM.Technology Team Focal Areas include:

Leading the technical development of TFS Compliance from a data perspective (adapting to align with BS11924 and FIRie (BS 8644)) to ensure open standards and interoperability with other systems and platforms.
By leading and working with our software team, you will support TFS Compliance to become the 'go to' platform for retaining the Golden Thread from RIBA Stage 7 in terms of fire safety.
Acting as the lead technical advisor on TFS Compliance integration projects with our clients and their existing software platforms, including business intelligence reporting systems.
Leading support on technical sales with regards product integration.
Leading development of business intelligence reporting systems and development of KPI dashboards.Consulting Team Focal Areas:

Leading the development of new fire safety digital advisory services across the teams with respect to changing legislation and guidance. In doing this you will work with technical leaders in our fire engineering consulting teams.
Leading the fire safety integration in BIM on our projects; supporting our teams to input into BIM Execution Plans on our projects, and act as an advisor to clarify fire safety requirements.
Influencing external stakeholders to improve the update of fire safety information in models.

Role Requirements

Technical & Professional Expertise

A relevant bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional qualification*
A experience in a similar senior position.OR

Experience in a similar senior position.AND

Experience working on data integration.
Strong acumen of MEP or structural model and drawing production.
Knowledge of MEP or structural systems and how services / structure should be routed and coordinated to a design level of detail.
Experience of using Navisworks Manage and/or Solibri Model Checker to conduct visual audits and clash detection.
