Job description

Test Manager

Pensions Dashboards Programme
(24-month FTC)
Circa \u00A362.5k

Your new company

The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) vision is everyone making the most of their money and pensions. This newly formed organisation brings together the three free services previously delivered by the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. MaPS is an arms-length organisation, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, with a joint commitment to ensuring that people have access and guidance to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime. To deliver this objective the Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has been formed to design the framework to make pensions dashboards a reality.

Pensions dashboards background

Pensions dashboards will enable people to access key information about all of their UK pensions, private and State, in one place online, revolutionising how people engage with their pensions throughout their lives. Enabling the delivery of pensions dashboards will require up to 52m adults in the UK to be connected with up to around 43,000 pension providers and schemes to search for their pensions.
Development work by industry has already taken place, as a concept. The goal is now to turn it into a delivery solution for the benefit of UK citizens. MaPS has created a Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP), which will be responsible for delivering the digital architecture and governance framework that will allow multiple parties to be connected as part of the pension's dashboards ecosystem. This hugely significant development has the potential to improve the financial wellbeing of millions of people.
The PDP is comprised of an Industry Steering Group and a supporting Programme team within MaPS. The PDP is working in close partnership with DWP, TPR and FCA who all have related delivery responsibilities. Industry has had, and will continue to have, a crucial role to play in designing and developing the necessary components to make pensions dashboards possible.

Your new role

The role of the Test Manager will be to assume responsibility for test environments of the Pensions Dashboard Ecosystem. This role will involve working with a 3rd party developer to manage the test environments and data required for testing. You will adapt to aggressive onboarding timelines, forecasting test environment demand in the future, and managing conflicts between stakeholders with competing goals.

Key Responsibilities will include:
* Managing test environments and the data required for testing
* Tracking dependencies, scheduling endpoint testing and testing environments, and dealing with conflicts of interest between industry data\/dashboard providers
* Planning and analysis of test environments.

* Effective Communication between PDP, 3rd party supplier test and development teams and industry stakeholders
* Communicate test environment availability to project management and data providers
* Develop KPIs to track efficiency of test environment delivery efforts
* Consult on new test environment design
* Bug or Defect Lifecycle & triage processes

This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of duties. The need for flexibility, shared accountability and team working is required, and the role-holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
