Job description
Deals provide an opportunity for faster growth, development of stronger capabilities, accelerated operational transformation, value realisation and protection. We draw upon our deals experience across many industries to support and partner with our clients. The insight we create, coupled with the Intelligent Digital tools and methodologies which we use to get to and evaluate the data that matters, and contributes to the success of our clients in all Deals situations. Here you'll put together major mergers and acquisitions and resolve business crises. You'll work on anything from international take-over bids to economic crime investigations and cases of insolvency.
Business Area
As part of your Black Talent in Business placement you can expect to gain experience across a number of our Deals teams including Business Recovery Services, Corporate Finance and Forensic Services. Examples of the services we offer our clients are:
Corporate Finance - we offer a full range of financial advisory services, from acquisitions and disposals for corporate and private equity clients, to advice on infrastructure, energy and public sector projects
Business Restructuring Services - we advise under-performing UK and European companies on restructuring, refinancing, accelerated mergers and acquisitions and insolvency - finding the best way forward for the business and its stakeholders
Forensic Services - we help our clients to prepare for, respond to and emerge stronger from a wide range of business risks and issues. These include major public enquiries, rogue trader or bribery allegations, and commercial and transactional disputes across all industry sectors.
Our Deals team operate across all industry sectors - clients range from corporates and private equity houses, to major government departments and private sector contractors and developers.
Programme
During this three-day paid programme you'll get an insight into what a career at PwC could look like, you'll meet mentors and buddies who'll represent the variety of opportunities available across PwC. You'll meet some of our Black colleagues to hear about their own personal career journeys, as well as from some of our networks focussed on Inclusion and Diversity. Through interactive sessions the programme will help you to develop confidence in a business setting and encourage you to bring your whole self to the workplace. At PwC, we nurture an environment where our people can be the best they can be. Our Black Talent in Business programme will be a 3-day paid programme which will be run from the 28th to 30th June. You will need to be in the UK to complete this programme which will be run virtually in Summer 2022
What you'll do
During your placement, we'll aim to give you as many experiences as possible, including exposure to client work; although the exact nature of the work you'll do will depend on what projects we're working on at the time of your placement.
This could involve researching, modelling, writing reports, analysing data or developing options and recommendations on a project Business Restructuring Services; supporting on acquisitions and disposals for corporate or private equity clients in Corporate Finance; to helping clients get to the bottom of particularly complex business issues in Forensic Services. Or you could be involved in business development work; researching companies and supporting with industry analysis.
What you'll need
You'll need to have or be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study. You'll need to be a first year undergraduate university student on a three-year degree course; or You'll need to be a first year undergraduate university students on a four-year degree expecting to do a work placement in your third year; or You'll need to be a second year undergraduate university students on a four-year degree course
