About us
Our Working Capital practice is part of our Restructuring Services business unit which is the largest restructuring practice in the UK.
About the Team
Our specialist Working Capital team works closely with our clients to develop sustainable solutions to improve working capital and inventory across the supply chain. Team supports clients across a range of industries to sustainably transform their supply chains, including process optimisation, production planning, S&OP implementation, as well as the definition of supporting tools and technology.
About the role
As a Senior Manager within the Working Capital team you will work with a variety of clients across industries and geographies. You will lead supply chain and inventory improvement engagements with the aim of optimising our clients supply chain and inventory holdings. You will be responsible for client management and project delivery.
You will focus mainly on inventory improvement areas matching your previous experience and expertise, including:
Reviewing the operational and financial performance of inventories
Financial analysis of opportunities for inventory improvements, within context of commercial requirements of the business
Understand key business processes, procurement and supply chain, and operational working capital challenges
Work with clients on inventory optimisation engagements, including helping them to hold an optimum amount of stock
Assessment of existing supply chain capabilities and help to develop a strategy that leverages technological and process-driven solutions in areas such as planning, logistics, customer service and manufacturing
Assessment of operational and management teams within an organisation, identifying skill gaps and training needs
Hands-on implementation of process and operational improvements across S&OP, inventory management, planning & forecasting
Working alongside management teams to implement and support project plans
Leading project and clients teams to drive inventory optimisation
Essential skills and experience
You will have either
Held function roles in Supply Chain and Inventory optimisation within industry /or/
Have at least 8 years experience in supply chain and inventory optimization consulting in the UK or continental Europe
Key technical skills and experiences required for this role include:
Previous experience in Supply Chain and Procurement roles, or Working capital consulting experience in the UK or continental Europe.
Experience in engagements to improve supply chain management, procurement, buying, inventory reduction or general working capital optimisation
Experience of supply and demand planning or working with inventory management processes/systems to forecast inventory
Good end-to-end understanding of flows of goods and services, information and money and how different functions cooperate internally and externally
Understanding of supply chain systems, data and operating model considerations
Proficiency in analytics and visualisation tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau or Power BI (is beneficial but not necessary)
MRP/ERP experience (is beneficial but not necessary)
Other European languages beneficial (but not necessary)
Strong commercial awareness and business analysis skills
Sound financial analysis skills
Key management skills and experience required for this role include:
Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating with all levels
Proven project and client management skills
Ability to lead and motivate others, where required in the role
Whilst under current COVID-19 restrictions, the way in which we are working with clients has changed. We expect that most client work will be undertaken in a hybrid model, working both remotely, from PwC offices and at client locations. As a team we will continue to work in line with the firm's and government's policies.
