Job Description
The Business Development Director - Scientific will play a pivotal role in the growth of this business. This leadership role will target senior level decision makers within customer organisations to drive strong sales growth, and strong long-term business relationships within these Academic Research accounts.

This is a senior sales role designed to achieve the businesses revenue, margin, and market share goals in the applied segment of services to the Academic Research Community. This role will require a strong blend of executive skills including pipeline management, client discovery, scientific acumen, product knowledge, process automation, team selling, communications, negotiations, financial experience, and multinational account management.

This position will be required to collaborate with clients, prospective clients and various internal resources including scientific operations, application support, product management, operations, production, marketing, and other corporate professionals in the sales process.

The role will require building key customer relationships to further grow business, including development and delivery of technical presentations, understanding customers operational needs, and establishing the relevance of products and services in providing a solution for their requirements.

The Successful Applicant
Business Development Director - Scientific

  • PhD in bioscience / life-science, business management or a related field.
  • 3 years of demonstrated success managing complex, solution-oriented sales process within the life sciences industry.
  • Competencies with all aspects of strategic selling and large account management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading the account sales processes, based on a consultative selling approach
  • Diligent management of a complex sales process including forecasting, prospecting, discovery, analysis, solution design, presentation, negotiating and closing.
  • Creative problem solver, with a passion for discovering/developing applied solutions for complex, process problems faced by clients.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience of selling Scientific solutions.
  • Experience of selling to the Academic Research community.
