Job description

*Care Assistant - Bexley*

*Pay: *£10.00 - £10.30 per hour.

*Training*: provided

*Uniform & PPE* : provided

*Contracts* : 30 hour contracts and some availability for reduce hours

*Holidays* : Paid holidays. We do have some vacancies for flexible working as well.

*Hours*: our busy times at 7 am to 9.30 am and 4 pm to 7 pm, and we have extra work on the weekends.

*Covid-19 vaccine: * You must have taken your vaccine, or be willing to be vaccinated. This is a stipulation by our councils.

*Location: *You must live within a commutable distance from our office and be willing to use public transport or your own transport to visit our service users (customers) homes.

*About Us: *Eleanor Nursing and Social Care has been providing support to vulnerable people for over 40 years. Annually we deliver over 2 million hours of vital care services, including your local area.

From each branch, we provide practical support with daily tasks such as meal preparation and personal care, domestic services and companionship, to allow people to live independently and remain in their own homes.

Previous experience is not required (but advantageous), as full training and support will be given.

Successful candidates are compassionate, caring, patient, resilient and love interacting and chatting with others.

*Care Assistant*: Typically they work 40 hours a week, and they get 5 to 10 service users (customers) to look after. You are expected to forge a close relationship with them and be their voice and support for all aspects of their life. The council presents a plan, and we refine that plan (outlines how we will support the individual). Your role is to carry out the plan as described, on time. In addition, you are responsible for his / her complete care. This means you need to alert us of any additional needs, changing needs, or concerns. We will train you to spot abuse, identify fire or other risks.

*COVID-19 considerations: Full PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) mask, visor, gloves, aprons and hand sanitiser will be provided.*

*Duties: *

· Promoting independence, dignity, and choice through hands-on care for our clients.

· Personal care which may include washing, bathing, showering, toileting etc.

· Assisting clients with morning, afternoon, and bedtime routines.

· Preparing or assisting with meal and drink preparation.

· Light household tasks - dusting, laundry, washing up and vacuuming.

· Shopping and collecting prescriptions.

· Maintaining records of your daily activities.

*REQUIREMENTS: *

· Experience in Care desirable but not essential.

· Flexibility

· Excellent communication skills

· Works well under pressure.

· Team player

· Driving licence and vehicle desirable but not essential.

· Right to work in the UK

· Live locally within the area.
