Banking and Capital Markets (B&CM) Audit is the market leading banking audit practice, with an extensive portfolio of flagship clients ranging from global banks through to brokers, challenger banks and FinTechs. Our team of 650 experts, deliver audit services to our clients from offices across the UK. Joining B&CM will give you the opportunity to work on both large and smaller audits. The Role:

As a CASS Manager in Banking & Capital Markets, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. You will work within teams of varying sizes, reporting to Senior Managers, Directors and Partners to deliver a range of CASS audit engagements, the potential for some advisory engagements, as well as taking responsibility for wider engagement activities including budgeting, resource management, strategy and market insights/business development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering CASS audits with potential opportunities on CASS advisory projects over a diverse range of our clients within set deadlines
  • Conducting fieldwork in accordance with PwC's CASS audit methodology and quality assurance standards, communicating findings to clients and preparing written reports.
  • Building effective working relationships with senior clients and both junior and senior team members.
  • Leading and coaching junior staff in teams of up to 10 people
  • Acting to resolve issues which prevent effective team working, even during times of change and uncertainty
  • Participating in team and firm activities to contribute to the broader B&CM growth strategy
  • Proactively develop technical knowledge through the receipt of on-the-job coaching, self-study, training, qualifications and industry reading.
  • Promoting our brand in the (CASS) market by taking insights to clients individually, at one of our CASS client conferences, or through our social media campaigns; and
  • Helping us transform and change what we do through the use of technology, leveraging the significant investment made in technology tools at PwC.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Successful candidates should have experience of and be able to demonstrate a number of the skills below:

  • CA / ACA / ACCA/ICAS qualified (or international equivalent) or
  • equivalent work experience in Audit (international candidates who technically qualify in their home country by experience)
  • A passion for delivering value and insight to clients through our audit and advisory services.
  • Strong analytical and engagement management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • A track record of effective project management over both your own and your team's work
  • The desire to learn and be intellectually curious every day
  • The ability to work effectively in different teams for varying periods of time, building good working relationships with both colleagues and client personnel at all levels.
  • Experience in providing coaching, reviewing the work of others, and giving clear feedback to junior staff and identifying development opportunities to build upon the strengths of team members.
  • Experience of identifying and effectively reporting issues and recommendations for improvement to clients.
  • Ideally, an audit, internal audit or risk/controls background.
