Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking chef to join experienced kitchen team at Sissinghurst!
Hours: Average of 37.5 hours per week with flexibility needed during peak periods. Unlike most Hospitality jobs there are No Evenings & No Split Shift work required.
Salary: £23,500 per annum
Contract: Permanent role

What you'll be doing
Working with the Head chef and Food & Beverage Management team you'll use your creativity to develop delicious menus, using local produce where available, that adapt to the seasons, to delight visitors with our spirit of place and provide great value for money. You'll be constantly seeking and developing new income opportunities, working to achieve financial targets and increase margins by minimising waste and controlling costs and resources.
As a team, you'll strive for a culture of exceptional service and work effectively to deliver great results. You'll be constantly seeking and developing new income opportunities and working to achieve financial targets and increase margins by minimising waste and controlling costs and resources.
Working alongside the team, you'll ensure everyone is compliant with relevant legislation and internal processes including food hygiene and COSHH procedures. You may also be required, on occasions to supervise volunteers and other team members. You'll be proud to share our valuable work with our customers, and look to maximise sales with new ideas so that the profit can be reinvested back into our conservation work.
Through effective people management and leadership, and with the National Trust ethos at the forefront of your mind, you'll motivate the team of staff and volunteers to strive for a culture of exceptional service and make it a great place to work.

Who we're looking for:
As an experienced Chef, you'll be passionate about food and be driven to exceed customer's expectations by delighting them with the delicious food you create, prepare and serve:
You'll need to be;
- Creative and proactive
- An experienced people manager including setting personal objectives and providing feedback
- Qualified in food preparation and cooking to City & Guilds or NVQ L3 or equivalent
