Formed in 1890, the British Deaf Association (BDA) is the UK's largest Deaf-led membership organisation supporting Deaf people who use British Sign Language (BSL). We stand for Deaf Equality, Access and Freedom of Choice.
The CEO of the British Deaf Association has a unique role in leading an organisation that is respected, a mover and shaker in improving Deaf people's lives, makes things happen, and, impacts positively on the UK's Deaf Sign Language Community across the UK.
For this full-time, high profile, national role, we are looking for a dynamic and suitably experienced person who will be relentless in articulating the BDA's vision and values, and, able to inspire and empower others to share in achieving them by providing solid leadership. Our next CEO will lead the BDA through its next stage of developing and delivering a new 3-year strategy including increasing opportunities and income.
We are looking for someone who is a natural collaborator and networker with knowledge of Deaf and Sign Language issues, highly adaptable, and, able to consolidate existing work and develop new opportunities.
Working with the Board of Trustees and key members of the Management Team, the CEO will ensure that the BDA remains responsive to the needs of the UK's Deaf Sign Language Community and is able to articulate these at a high level, guiding and challenging politicians, policy makers and others.

Location: Negotiable. Possibility of part-home and part-office at one of the BDA's offices - preferably London.
Salary: Negotiable, but starting at £50k per annum.
