Job description

Role - Children's Support Worker Part Time

Location - Presteigne, Powys

You will be working minimum 23 hours per week (days, nights, weekends)

Rate £9.55 - £10.55 + up to £600 pa travel allowance

It takes a special type of person to dedicate their career to supporting others. Your patience, empathy and caring nature make you the ideal person to support the individuals who live at our home in Presteigne.

Much of your role will be spent supporting autistic children with day-to-day tasks, enabling them the opportunity to live as independent and fulfilling life as possible. On good days, you'll take them on day trips, help them prepare meals and make sure they're getting out and about enjoying some of Wales beautiful countryside.

Other days, you'll need to take on a more "Carer" focused role, helping vulnerable children with personal hygiene and care.

Sometimes, if the person you're supporting is having a hard day, you'll need to support and keep them safe whilst they calm down. It's ok though, you'll be given all the training you need. There will be hard days, but the good days make it all worthwhile.

A day in the life of a Children's Support Worker Part Time with Orbis Education and Care Involves:

Providing tailored support to the autistic children using our services.
Assisting our Supported Individuals with day-to-day tasks and decision making.
Promoting independence by supporting with a range of educational, social and work-based activities.
Undertaking general housekeeping duties, plus elements of personal care.
Maintaining accurate record keeping of all activities, progress, and incidents should they arise.

To be a successful Children's Support Worker Part Time with Orbis Education and Care, you'll need:

Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice
The ability to work flexibly
Previous care experience preferred but not essential
