Job description

About the Role

This is an exciting time for Resource Management (RM) as we build on the professionalism of our people and work closely with the business to develop and implement PwC business and people strategy. PwC's RM team has been centralised to assist the firm in being more agile and providing the right people on the right projects at the right time.

This is a demanding role that would suit an experienced and proven manager seeking to demonstrate their agility and develop their leadership and commercial skills. The role sits within the Consulting Resource Management team and would act as Business Partner to the Delivery Centre (DC) Hub - the operational focus for all overseas supply activity - providing end-to-end support, from influencing and managing the demand through to mobilisation.

Responsibilities

  • Works in concert with the Activation Hubs and Cluster teams as the DC demand SME, to help build engagement teams that comprise the optimum mix of UK based staff, plus all delivery centres, contractors and other PwC territories.

  • Works proactively with engagement teams and the DC Hub to understand and influence demand requirements, from bid stage all the way through to mobilisation. This influence is based upon knowledge of capacity, skills and commercial considerations.

  • Responsible for sharing regular updates to RM and DC Hub leadership, proactively flagging risks and concerns and escalating where necessary.

  • Monitors fulfillment across the various DCs, raising any risks to the engagement team along with secondary options.

  • Provides strategic workforce planning advice to the leadership:

    • Helping to ensure maximum margin is delivered.

    • Reconciling historic trends with emerging demand to help articulate future skills needed.

Pipeline management and Engagement Architecture

  • Track the sales pipeline to be proactive in working with engagement teams, developing an early view of likely demand, which is shared with the DC Hub and delivery centre contacts.

  • Works proactively with the engagement and operations teams to understand and share any headcount/capacity concerns which may influence talent pools use and so, commercial/pricing assumptions.

  • Help shape and develop our Engagement Architecture proposition and seek opportunities to share learnings with RM colleagues in different teams.

Essential skills and experience. The successful candidate will be able to evidence the following:

  • Experience operating as a manager in a high-performing resourcing team.

  • Experience of working with remote Delivery Centres (Alternative Delivery Models), bot nearshore and offshore.

  • A commercially driven approach to achieving successful outcomes for stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship building skills with staff and stakeholders in the business, as well as those in parallel operational teams, such as HC, Recruitment, L&D and Finance.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.

  • An ability to handle complex data and explore the use of new technology to drive decision making.

  • An active approach to team and personal development, seeking opportunities for further development for self and others

  • A proven leadership ability: someone that can lead and coach a team effectively.
