Mountjoy Ltd is contracted to the Isle of Wight Council and Vectis Housing Association (amongst other clients) to provide the day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance to various buildings across the Isle of Wight. We are seeking an IT literate and conscientious Costing Administrator to complement our growing team. Your new role
Your new role
Your principal aim will be to support the contract as a first point of contact to issue, receive, and record clean information accurately and timely for all calls and emails regarding all new repairs and ongoing repair appointments to achieve our purpose of the right work at the right time. You will also be responsible for costing jobs and ensuring they are costed correctly and highlighting areas where we can be more efficient and effective. Your New Team

We are seeking an IT literate and conscientious Costing Administrator to complement our team in Ryde. The most important elements relating to your work are;
To record information directly into the Job Management Systems or any other system(s) used to deliver the service.

Constantly monitor the job screens, and when a job requires you to act, take action, or if uncertain pull on the Contract Manager or Supervisors for assistance.

Provide timely information to the client in terms of work in progress and costing.

Cost jobs by applying the relevant pricing mechanisms to realise potential margin.

Ensure all information and invoices are on jobs before costing in order to capture all costs and liaise with the job owner if there are any clarifications required.

Highlight any issues and trends in relation to task productivity where the expected demonstrated time for the trade and task has been exceeded.

Review any loss-making jobs and provide detailed information to Contract Manager

Ensure adequate support and cover for the other administrators, particularly on breaks, peak periods and annual leave.

The Required Qualifications
GCSE or Equivalent in Qualification in Maths and English.

The Required Experience
Basic knowledge of building maintenance trades and the tasks/activities that can be undertaken be each trade group.

Good geographical understanding of the Isle of Wight area including main highways, the best routes, and travel times between different locations.

Knowledge of National Schedule of Rates (Desirable)
Basic accounting principles and their application (Desirable)
