We have an exciting opportunity within a new role, as a Data and Analytics Delivery Manager.Reporting into the Head of Data & Analytics (D&A) you will play a key part in enabling our vision of empowering Seasalt to make better use of data. You will build, manage, and develop several small Delivery Teams ("Crews") to partner closely with departments across Seasalt to understand their needs, deliver and enable their use of data.Your multi-disciplinary teams will be at the heart of our D&A Centre of Excellence and will deliver data sets, reports, visualisation, analysis, automation, and advanced analytics. You will champion data-led approach, creating insights that help to make Seasalt better.Please note as part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role can be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations and remotely, subject to the individual's choice and agreement with the line manager. Further details can be discussed at interview.You'll help us by:Coaching, supporting, nurturing and directly line managing the D&A Delivery teams ("Crews")Ensuring there is clear alignment of each Delivery team to Seasalt's departments and specific data domainsDeveloping and nurturing our D&A business partnering model to deliver data products, analytics, reporting, analysis, and visualisationsSupporting your direct reports in developing as business partners and line managersBeing a point of escalation for resource needs and prioritisation for your Delivery teamsDeveloping, maintaining, and communicating a cross-department view of our D&A Delivery pipelineWorking closely with our PMO to ensure alignment and adoption of appropriate project management and agile techniquesOwning, creating and monitoring the Delivery team's overall pipeline of work, roadmap, backlog and plans- e.g. in Jira, Excel, DevOps, Microsoft ProjectOwning the Delivery team's RAID log, ensuring regular review and escalations as necessaryManaging and developing our D&A delivery quarterly plans, presenting, and sharing with our Data Steering Group highlighting any cross-department prioritisation neededManaging stakeholder expectations, communicating clearly and regularly. Listen to the needs of both technical and business stakeholders. Build strong stakeholder partnershipsOverseeing the Delivery team's activity across business-as-usual, backlog of requests and assigned projectsBalancing resources across and between our Delivery teams to ensure coverage of Seasalt's priorities and strategic objectives, where necessary seeking additional support from third party providersManaging the overall team backlog & prioritisation, run stand ups, sprint planning, sizing, and retrospectives as required etcWorking closely with our in-house Data Architects, Senior Data Engineer and Data Governance teams and with third parties to deliver our backlog of work across business-as-usual, new initiatives/projects and supportCollaborating across our broader Technology group to ensure the Delivery teams are working closely with our Technical Services, Service delivery and development teams where appropriate.Ensuring data products are tested to ensure the appropriate level of qualityEnsuring that we have appropriate support processes in place for our data systems and data productsProviding, publishing, and monitoring delivery metrics including volume of requests, throughput, and velocityContinuously refining and improving our delivery processes in a collaborative way through regular retrospectivesEnsuring there is a standard way of working across the "Crews" and that there is knowledge and best practice sharing between themCollaborating and working closely with our D&A Governance Manager, Data Architects and Senior Data Engineers to ensure the Delivery team is working to the required standards and designs.Ensuring the teams create and maintain appropriate documentation and artefacts (e.g. requirements, design, data source documents, data models, data flows, data definitions etc)Enabling and encouraging your teams to share their data expertise, knowledge and skills with analysts and end-users across Seasalt, driving an engaged communityEnsuring your teams can deliver a wide range of data products including data pipelines, data sets, reports, visualisations, models, alerts, and analysisCreating and sharing knowledge resources to relevant stakeholders and communicate how these resources can be used to address different needs (e.g., problem-solving, learning, strategic planning and decision making).Continuously developing and keeping abreast of industry best practice and enable your teams to do the sameThe skills you'll be sharing with the team:With a background in data, having built and delivered a range of data products. You'll have experience of enabling self-service reporting and knowledge of a collection of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and project management techniques.Logical, creative, and highly organised with strong leadership skills. You will have experience of managing teams to deliver quick and accurate results, along with managing stakeholders at all levels. An excellent communicator who is proactive and resilient.You will have knowledge of data warehousing, Tabular Models and Modern Data Platforms. Solid problem-solving skills are a given, as is knowledge of data automation, data analysis, data visualization and data management and modelling.
