As a Senior Associate at PwC, you will solve important problems, intelligently applying data architect solutions to reshape our client's businesses. You'll help embed data and analytics in our Consulting approach and drive change through digital transformation.
Through being innovative with data, you'll have a real impact on business decision making, often directly advising senior members of leading organisations in Fortune 500 organisations. You'll add value to our clients through identifying and delivering benefits which are sustainable. You will be part of small teams or large transformational programmes, working closely with some of the top minds in their field and supporting the development of other analytics specialists learning their craft.

Key responsibilities
- Supporting the senior leadership team in managing client engagements from strategy development to end-to-end deliverable creation. Managers will run a project or workstream, creating novel data solutions to address complex client problems and acting as the main day-to-day contact for clients;
- Working with stakeholders and wider data teams, managers contribute to internal innovation through designing and building analytics and digital assets for PwC to reuse and commercialise in the market;
- Supporting senior management to identify opportunities to embed advanced data and analytics use cases in wider business transformation propositions;
- Acting as a "data translator": communicating compelling business stories to non-technical stakeholders based on deep analytical insight;
- Being a "data influencer" - proposing and recommending ways in which PwC can continuously improve with awareness of the latest techniques and technologies;
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of data specialists, strategists, experience consultants and technology gurus to deliver great client outcomes through complex strategy-led and technology-led transformation programmes
As a data architect, you will design technical data-driven solutions for our clients. You will supervise the implementation of those data-driven solutions, and ensure the enterprise strategic vision is met. You will function as a technical leader, making sure that the data architecture under your watch is secure and sustainable. You will work to develop data integration strategies while showcasing extensive experience in data management.
You will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage small project teams and inspire others to solve problems, under pressure, end-to-end with data.
Essential requirements for this role:
- Educated to degree level BSc/MSc/PHD in - for example - Computer Science, Business Information, Mathematics, Engineering or other STEM.
- A strong team player with empathy, humility and dedication to joint success and shared development.
- Candidates must have significant practical project experience (professional, academic or personal) in lead data architect roles, able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Experience in scoping, designing and delivering data architecture solutions on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, GCP or similar) through the entire project lifecycle
- Able to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences including "storytelling" through data visualisation
- The intellectual curiosity and drive to seek out, learn, and then apply new data techniques in a fast paced environment with scepticism and attention to detail regarding data quality and analytical outputs;
- Show experience in owning client relationships and managing them throughout the engagement lifecycle;
- Show an ability to assess modelling needs based on client's situation and recommend the best data tools and methods to support them;
- Commercially curious: we want you to be able to understand a business area and its strategic outcomes, the business processes and metrics that drive performance.
- Foundational understanding of several of the core data architecture disciplines including data modelling, metadata management, data migration and/or master data management;
- Proven experience of developing Conceptual through to Physical data models: you must be proficient in at least one data modelling tool (e.g. Erwin)
- Have developed documents to support your work such as Mapping Documents, CRUDs, API Specification Documents, HLSAs and/or a Data Migration Strategy
- Practical knowledge of core data ETL and visualisation skills- for example using tools such as SQL and NoSQL databases, ETL tools (e.g. Snaplogic, Alteryx) & PowerBI/Tableau/Qlik
- Advanced technical skills, in one or more of the following areas: Master Data Management tools such as Informatica, writing API specs in JSON and integrating with tools such as MuleSoft
Proven experience in applying data architecture tools and techniques in at least one of the following areas:
- Enterprise wide data architecture and modeling
- Business tooling based architecture and modelling (CRM, ERP) and integration architecture for data across heterogeneous applications
- Reporting on and Data Analytical data architecture and modelling
- Experience in Agile delivery and Agile techniques, such as Scrum and Kanban
- Certifications in Data Architecture (e.g. TOGAF / Cloud Certifications)
