Data Engineer - Pipelines, Kafka, AWS, DevOps - 3 ROLES
£65,000

One of Manchesters flagship employers are in the process of building a new Greenfield global data platform that will tranform their digital capabilities. This is a new large squad build (70+ hires) and a key part being the Data Engineers coming in to build and maintain data pipelines, within their big data offerings, to ultimately create and run their own data pipelines using a pipeline-as-a-service approach.

As these Data / Pipeline Engineers are such key hires for the business there is a real opportunity here to quickly become SME / Technical Lead and have a major influence across the group. You'll strive to be an advocate for data pipelines engineering best practices and be confident working with customers and stakeholders.

You will a good level of commercial experience with running big data pipelines and automating processes to esnure cost effective decisions are made. A knowledge of best practices across streaming technologies (AWS Kinesis, Dataflow, Apache Flink) would be highley beneficial and further experience across AWS & GCP. A natural appreciation for DevOps/DevSecOps practices would be expected.

These roles provide a rare opportunity to grow a new data function with real scope to have an impact and see value from your work in the real world. With Data very much at the heart of this new global platform this build will use data collectively to utilise and improve many processes across the business.

WFH Policy:
This client has taken a different approach - they have an event guide for all Software Engineers to which they have full visibility. It isn't work from the office 2/3 days a week, it isn't even work from the office once a week....
