Join us and help shape the future of agricultureAbout this opportunity:The Digital Engineer is a pivotal role within the Manufacturing Excellence organization, responsible for the site's development and delivery of digital transformation of the manufacturing assets. The role is also responsible for ensuring that suitable digital skills are in place to support the journey to Smart Manufacturing.Please see below an outline of the position:Facilitating and driving the transformation of our manufacturing facilities in Grangemouth to ensure they are ready for the digital era.With a focus on Industry 4.0 and digital technologies, the role will actively contribute to the Smart Manufacturing Network and will collaborate closely with the global Smart Manufacturing Operational Board on the development of new ideas, prototyping and piloting in the production site, to ensure that solutions are developed with a scalability mindset.Actively initiating and shaping digital opportunities in support to the manufacturing process, managing the portfolio of digital transformation activities within the production site.Providing strategic and tactical input on best paths forward on digital initiatives. Help the manufacturing team in creating digital roadmaps and strategies at local scale and aligned with global strategy.Being able to articulately and passionately present digital concepts to local and global key stakeholders by staying ahead of the digital trends.Spotting opportunities by acting as a catalyst to all core functions to help find solutions or come up with strategies and tactics that are aligned between local needs and global streams, helping translate business objectives into strategies and tactics.Developing the business case for digital and data intelligence opportunities and support the delivery of digital solution & data analytics capabilities into the shopfloor.Essential Experience & Qualifications:STEM degree qualified (or equivalent experience) with knowledge of operational technology and industrial systems as well as functional knowledge of enterprise systems (SAP) and business analytics services.Strong understanding of business transformation, digital, operational and information technology and change delivery. Previously worked on digital transformation initiatives.Experience covering and integrating digital technology (e.g. smart sensors/equipment, mobile applications, data analytics, competency development) into manufacturing assets.Good understanding of production management systems (such as MES, MIS, LIMS, WMS, etc.), of mobile technology (tablets, phones, virtual-augmented-mixed reality glasses, personal sensors, etc.) of industrial systems and communication technology (historian, IoT platforms, wireless network, etc.).Understanding of the manufacturing process in specialty chemical and process industry would be an advantage.In return for your skills and knowledge Syngenta will offer:Competitive benefits packageUp to 31.5 days holidayThe opportunity to work with and learn from highly qualified and experienced employeesWe embrace and encourage diversity, and this is what drives our innovation and lets us outperform the market. #LI-TH1
