Job description

Seven Social Care is looking for a Disability Employment Officer to work with Shropshire Council to support people with disabilities into employment.

Start Date - ASAP
Hours - 09:00 - 17:00
Pay rate - £14.33 per hour (which will be paid to you via an umbrella company.)

The role:
* The post holder will work with a range of disabled clients to support them on their journey to paid employment. The aim will be to achieve paid employment which may include a period of pre-employment support such as work trials or training. The post holder will also work with retention clients who may be at risk of losing their jobs.

* working with colleagues to ensure the team functions successfully in support of the Council's corporate and service objectives.
* liaison with social care teams and external agencies across Shropshire to enhance the employment pathway for disabled service users.
* communicate effectively with customers on a one-to-one basis, some of whom have significant barriers to employment and education.
* Provide advice and support to job seekers throughout their journey to employment, to include initial assessment, vocational profiling, job search support, recruitment support, in work support and retention intervention

Applicant Requirements:
* Qualifications: N/A
* Experience: 2+ years working within Domestic Abuse.
* Compliance: Proof of right to work and DBS dated within the last 12 months (or registered on the online update service.)
* Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
* Hours: 37 hours p/w.
