Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant - Westminster

WhoFoundWho are supporting an outstanding community focused Primary school in the heart of City of Westminster which is seeking an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS team this year. Graduates welcome to apply!

The School & The Role

This lovely two-form entry Primary Academy are near to one of Central London's largest parks and outdoor spaces and within an easy 5-minute walk from the nearest tube station, which is easily accessible from most areas of London. They are seeking a bright and energetic SEND Teaching Assistant to join their expanding Early Years team, commencing as soon as possible.

You will be working closely with the broader Early Years team, whilst supporting a child in Nursery who has recently been diagnosed with Autism. You will be supporting them on a 1:1 basis, however there is scope for you to also work with many other children within the EYFS setting. You will be supported by a wonderful EYFS Lead and Teaching team, along with three other Early Years SEND Teaching Assistants working with the EYFS setting, across both Nursery and Reception classes.

This pupil is a delight to work with, and there are minimal behaviour issues, however they still require 1:1 support for their day-to-day social and engagement skills, their communication, speech and language.

The school are looking for a talented all-rounder who can add-value immediately upon commencing and you will be joining a confident and proactive team environment where you are supported and encouraged to flourish in your role.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Have experience working in the Primary School or Private Nursery setting
  • A solid understanding of the Early Years National Curriculum, or experience working with this age group in some capacity
  • A passion for supporting pupils across the mainstream and Special Educational Needs cohort
  • A commitment to Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Some experience supporting children with Autism will be highly regarded

This is a full-time role Monday - Friday, 8:30am until 4pm. The school are looking to appoint as soon as possible and the role will be for the remainder of the academic year with very good likelihood to continue into the next academic year.
