This role is focussed on supporting future industry talent through our education and skills initiatives. Ukie Education endeavours to support the next generation of industry talent from 5 - 21+ years and beyond Under the Ukie Education umbrella sit our flagship education initiatives, Digital Schoolhouse and Student Membership alongside the Video Games Ambassadors Scheme and supporting family friendly video games through Ask About Games. Working together we aim to enable anyone with a passion for video games to flourish.

The education team at Ukie sits across disciplines, supports our members, and works with a broad range of partners and stakeholders. The successful candidate will play an integral and leading role within this team, enabling them to experience the breadth of the games industry.

Ukie Education
This role is based within the Ukie Education team, looking after our education initiatives and activities including the Student Membership Programme and Digital Schoolhouse. The Co-ordinator will manage our partnerships as well as implement the practical delivery of key events and activities. Responsibilities include:
The Co-ordinator will be our key point of contact for Ukie's work with supporting brands within the Ukie Education umbrella, including Video Games Ambassadors (VGAs) which is our school's speaker network, managed by our partners Into Games.
The Co-ordinator will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and delivering Ukie Education outreach activities, including showcasing and exhibiting at events such as the BETT Show.
The Co-ordinator will develop a comprehensive sponsorship and funding package for Ukie Education; raising funds to support the delivery of our educational initiatives.
The Co-ordinator will also lead on the development of tailored staff development and training programmes for games companies. This will include managing relationships with existing suppliers, identifying and negotiating with new training providers and developing a strategy for future industry training needs.
Ukie Student Membership
You will be the main point of contact to manage and co-ordinate the delivery of the Student Membership programme.
Tasks include production and delivery of three annual Student Conferences, management of game jams, securing and promoting work experience and internship opportunities for students and building valuable connections between industry and academia.
As well as managing these projects the Co-ordinator will also lead on the day-to-day management of the membership programme. This will include liaising with higher education course leaders, managing the website and the creation of regular newsletters.
Digital Schoolhouse
The Co-ordinator will work with the Digital Schoolhouse team to co-ordinate and support the implementation of projects across a variety of stakeholders; these include the academics and educators that are part of the programme, as well as external partners and funders.
Tasks will include supporting and managing the delivery of key events, as well as scheduling and implementing working groups within the Digital Schoolhouse community and our partners as well as monitoring the activity and progress being made.
The Co-ordinator will identify key market gaps, growth opportunities and priority areas for further Digital Schoolhouse/UkieEdu activity.
The Co-ordinator will need to stay informed with educational events taking place in key regions nationwide and organise a Digital Schoolhouse/UkieEdu presence as and where relevant.
Desired experience and qualities:
- Ideal for someone with demonstrable experience in a relevant role
- Experience in stakeholder and relationship management with a demonstrable track record in establishing and building business relationships
- Knowledge of the current educational landscape, especially within the context of computing, creativity, and digital skills
- Excellent organisational skills with experience of organising events co-ordinated across multiple partners
- Excellent communication skills, including written, planning and analytical along with verbal communication and listening skills
Other information:
Working hours are Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.30pm and there is an expectation that some evening and weekend work will be required to attend events as the business requires. Ukie supports remote working, but there is an expectation of regular visits to the office.
