Engineer - Civil Asset Management - Kentish Town

The CAM contract is reactive in nature and is a highly fast paced environment where the small team have responsibility for approximately of 50-100 live design projects. Due to continue growth we are now looking for an Engineer to initially support the Design Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate with some work experience to continue their development both in design and operations, you will be excited to become part of the team in this diverse framework and will enjoy no two days the same with continued exposure in engineering.

What you will be doing
Manage the interface with external and in-house design teams on behalf of the Design Manager.
Undertake site visits when appropriate
Ensure that design work undertaken is carried out in accordance with company procedures and that a high level of professionalism is maintained.
Ensure that chargeable work is identified and evaluated including the preparation of adequate records of time spent.
Prepare conceptual designs with a view to the preparation of safe, practical, and economic designs in accordance with current legislation.
Prepare detailed designs in accordance with current standards and codes including calculations, design risk assessments and sufficiently detailed sketches for the preparation of working drawings.
Will be tasked with producing TQ, RFI and TWB on behalf of the design manager for review and acceptance.
Check the design work of other staff members and external designers.
Summarise quantities relating to design tasks for pricing purposes.
Some responsibility for preparation of design tenders and subcontracts.
Assisting in monthly reporting and progress reports.
Implementation of Temporary Works requirements and associated registers.
Be present in design meetings, as well as, taking notes for the Design Manager.
Liaising with the operations team regarding site visits, design implementation, design queries and closing out designs.

Who we are looking for
Construction/Design Experience - 2 years (degree)
Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other design based software such as AutoCad and TEDDS
Working knowledge of CDM 2015
Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
