Job description
Vacancy: Maintenance and Engineering Manager
Our Client have a requirement for an experienced Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join their team on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the infrastructure projects and
manage maintenance to ensure optimal use of Client's facilities.
Key responsibilities:
Engineering
Multi-million £ Capital infrastructure development projects
Project Management and budget management of multidiscipline projects (civil/electrical/water/fuel)
Review and optioneering of physical infrastructure layout and upgrades
Capex and opex budget setting and control
Participate in funding activities for Capital Projects
Attending Port business development and project meetings
Negotiating contractor tenders and managing third party contractors
Promote and ensure good health and safety practice is complied with both by yourself and those working with you at all times.
Support and promote the vision and values of the Client and lead on role modelling and reinforcing the required core values/behaviours
Develop proposals for capital investment gaining input from specialist Engineering, Business Development and Commercial as requiredMaintenance
Develop the maintenance plan, ensuring Client's facilities areas remain fit for purpose, clear of debris and safe to use. Include setting and monitoring KPIs and targets in line with that plan and to meet service level agreements
Supervision and control of equipment for the provision and reception of fuel oil, water and waste, including the processing of returns where required.
Undertake the implementation of planned maintenance programs with respect to operational and PLANT equipment as per maintenance/inspection schedules
Work collaboratively with customers and internal parties to ensure all assets are maintained to the appropriate standard of repair, safety and reliability.
Management and maintain delegated maintenance budgets.
Ensure invoicing is accurate and completed in a timely manner in line with lease, contract, or other agreements
Manage utilities and re-charging process across the facility
Proactively instruct and monitor inspections including the understanding of insurance obligations
Lead and manage facilities/maintenance team, including all aspects of performance management, providing clear, visible direction and identifying training needs.
Work collaboratively with customers and internal parties to ensure all assets are maintained to the appropriate standard of repair, safety and reliability.
Ensure that planned and reactive maintenance and capital investment are undertaken, using asset surveys and maintenance reporting tools, prioritising as required
Manage utilities and re-charging process across the facility
Project manage Client development projects and arrange repairs and maintenance to facilities/equipment by contractors, including the development of work scopes, acting as Clerk of Works where required and liaising with Client contractors in respect to health and safety compliance.
Participate in duty call outs
Other duties as required from time to time in order to meet the needs of the businessDesirable Experience & Attribute Requirements:
Chartered Engineer with degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Instrumentation Engineering; experience working in a similar role ideally 10 years; previous management of capital projects; people management experience; coaching/mentoring skills and experience; a good strategist; Awareness of Health and Safety at work; approachable; flexible approach to work; team player; attention to detail; use own initiative; prioritise workload; commercially astute; familiar with maritime operations and security (desirable)
