Could you be a Sense Community Support Worker?
It's an exciting time as Sense has just released its new strategy, we now have an opportunity for a Community Support Worker to join our team in Banbury, Warwickshire.
This is a permanent role, working 2 hours per fortnight.
This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to support an elderly individual who has Dementia to access the community for social and leisure purposes.
You will be supporting the person to participate in activities they enjoy and have meaningful experiences.
You will support them to make their own choices of how they want to spend their day, but a typical day in this role might be spent:
Attending a garden centre / cafe for a tea or coffee
Short walks in the park with a tea or coffee
Lunch out at a café / restaurant
There is no personal care involved in this role and there will be opportunities to work with other people we support and gain skills working with children and adults who are Deafblind.
The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.

Your duties can include:
To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.
To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:
For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
You require a full UK license and must be willing to drive your own vehicle.
An understanding of Dementia is desirable.
You don't need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications - we're happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker.
Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
