Field Support Technician (FTC)Role ProfileAn opportunity for a Field Based Technician to provide technical support in the ongoing development of sites relating to the reinstatement of Broadcast services as part of Project Restore for the Bilsdale transmitter site.Location: Bilsdale and sites within the North East and North Yorkshire regionsSalary/package: FTC 6 months - Up to £39K + 5% Bonus Your key responsibilities will include:Complete equipment checks on, but not limited to, the Bilsdale Quarry site and Bilsdale Relay sites, highlighting any issues found and acting as first line support for any faultsRespond to faults and service outages and support or complete corrective maintenance where possible in line with Arqiva standards, policies and proceduresSupport upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks following agreed instructionsMaintain accurate records, document and report actions takenEngage with local field team and build positive working relationshipsSupervise the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirementsMust HavesExperience in Broadcast Transmission, RF, Networks or Power systems i;e Generators, Change Over systemsExperience with processes, standards and Engineering practices related to monitoring and controlling (M&C)Up to date knowledge of Safety, Health and Environment legislation, policies and proceduresWilling to undergo security clearanceValid driving licence and ability to work alone and as part of a team and be effective in remote locationsMight haves:Working knowledge of systems and equipment such as, DVB, Analogue Radio, DAB, Microwaves, Sat Comms, Data Networks, Telecoms, Generators, Electrical DistributionExperience of networking principles and the development, testing and maintenance of bespoke and COTS (Common off the Shelf) software/hardware for Broadcast, IP Network, IOT or corporate application depending on technical area of expertiseWorking knowledge of the principles of power supplies, environmental controls, analogue and digital electronicsSome experience of networking principlesMore than anything, we want to work with people who are passionate about what they do and believe in our vision.
