What you will be doing as a Fleet Development Manager
This is a fantastic opportunity to support and execute Thames Water transition to an alternative fuel and optimised company fleet of LCVs, HGVs and plant equipment reducing our carbon footprint in line with our net zero strategy. This role brings significant autonomy working alongside an ambitious team of professionals passionate about our environment and customer service. You will also be vital in influencing the evolution in how we work, implementing an internal and outward facing fleet management system supplying data transparency to our customers whilst embedding workflow efficiencies and enhanced management information.
We're looking for you to
Take ownership of key strategic goals, whilst establishing key relationships with supply chain and managers, to ensure a smooth delivery of our strategy. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Rolling out of our electric vehicle replacement programme
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to determine best practise
  • Cost and financial analysis to accompany plans
  • Assisting with the development of the Fleet Management System
  • Building alternative fuel plans for plant equipment
  • Identifying key opportunities for alternative fuel and costs
  • Providing advice on matters of responsibility and specialism

The Job
  • £39,000 to £45,000 depending on skills and experience
  • Based at Clearwater, Reading with hybrid working once training has been completed
  • Travel required to attend other sites
  • 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday

To be successful as a Fleet Development Manager you will have the following:
  • Knowledge of alternative fuelled vehicles not limited to electric
  • Knowledge of light and heavy plant equipment
  • Understanding of fleet management systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience of delivering projects in time and on budget
  • Excellent influencing and communications skills
