Our Monmouthshire Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement Service are recruiting for Floating Support Workers to join the team!
This role is an interesting and exciting opportunity for someone to work with a diverse cliental in getting homeless individuals out of temporary accommodation and into their own tenancy. This is such an important role that involves supporting someone with their different needs to get them settled into a place they can call home.
No 2 days will be the same in this role and you will work across Monmouthshire meeting and supporting different people every day.

Being part of the team:
Our Monmouthshire Floating Support team are responsible for ensuring everyone who has been housed in temporary accommodation since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic is given the support they need to help them move on into a tenancy. By joining this team, you would play an influential role in delivering on our pledge to get as many people as we can a safe home that they can independently manage.
This role does have it challenges, you would be working with people who have their own unique experiences and support needs including substance misuse issues and offending backgrounds. However, this is also an incredibly rewarding role as you get to support someone to live independently and a more fulfilling life. You will also be working alongside an experienced team and manager who will support you to develop skills and relationships with external agencies.
What we are offering you:
We have 37 hour per week, permanent Floating Support Worker positions available.
Working days are predominately Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 & 5, but flexibility is required as you may on some occasions work outside 9 to 5 to support individuals when needed.
We offer flexible working to help individual employees with work/life balance, and we have implemented agile working practices.
We provide all training required to successfully deliver the role and you will have access to a bespoke learning pathway with the support of an experienced Learning & Development team.
We pay for an Enhanced DBS check, which is a requirement for this role.
As a Floating Support Worker your day will consist of:
* Managing your own caseload and keeping accurate, up-to-date records.
* Traveling to the people we support's temporary accommodation or public place.
* Engaging and interacting with the people we support to establish goals to work towards.
* Providing advice on finances, health, welfare benefits, housing options and tenancy management skills.
* Working with external agencies and signposting the people we support to the appropriate services suited to their needs, specifically treatment and mental health services.
