We have opportunities available for someone looking for flexible hours to fit around their lifestyle.

You could become part of a team that works amongst our Housing Support services across Monmouthshire & Torfaen where you would be working with people who are at risk of losing their homes. Working patterns can be varied, and we predominately have hours to suit people who wish to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm and the occasional days shifts on weekends.

Being part of the relief bank as a Relief Floating Support Worker, means that you have the flexibility to choose when you work and are under no obligations to work a set number of hours a week.

Each service offers something a little different and is tailored to meet the needs of the people we support. Our aim is to prevent people with housing issues and various support needs from losing their home and becoming homeless. The cliental we support have various support needs including mental health, substance misuse, alcohol dependency, and offending backgrounds. By working in this role, you will have the chance to meet and work with new people and no 2 days will be the same.

How it works:

Managers of our services offer out shifts to the relief bank and you would then be able to choose the shifts you want to work in your preferred location. We strive to give as much notice as possible, but you could be contact on an ad-hoc basis when shift cover is needed. As such, the hours may not be guaranteed.

Shift patterns can be varied and predominately include Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm and some dayshifts over a weekend.

Lone working also applies in our services, but we provide all training required to successfully deliver the role and you will have access to a bespoke learning pathway with the support of an experienced Learning & Development team.

The benefits:

You will get a Relief Holiday Payment of 12.07% added on top of each pay packet. Also, where applicable entitlement to SSP will apply.

We pay a sleep-in rate of £34.54.

We also pay for an Enhanced DBS check, which is a requirement for this role.

The role:

Your role as a Floating Support Worker would consist of working with the people we support in their homes or temporary accommodation to support them with their housing needs and to prevent them from becoming homeless.

This is a varied role where the support you deliver will be dependent on what your client's needs and goals are.

No 2 days will ever be the same as you would be out and about in the community, working in different places and with different people every day.

Your role would be to empower people by equipping them with the skills required to be able to manage their home independently. This will involve supporting them with budgeting, benefits, their health and wellbeing and household management. You will be required to provide housing advice and guidance on welfare benefits, housing legislation, finances, health, wellbeing, housing options, tenancy management skills, and digital inclusion.

As such you will be required to have access to a car and a driver's licence, alongside business insurance. Working patterns tend to be weekdays, however there maybe requirements for weekend and evening dependant on the need of the clients.
