Job description

My client, a specialist UK based Engineering and Environmental Consultancy which specialises in Flood Protection and Mitigation, is searching for a Flood Risk Advisor to join a supportive Water Team based in Nottingham. This role can be based from home and will involve a mix of site visits and Client meetings.

It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background including a MSc and/or BSc in Hydrology, Environmental Management or Engineering and have experience working for a UK based Consultancy completing flood risk assessments, flood mapping using ArcGIS and drainage strategies.

It is beneficial for applicants to have experience completing drainage area planning, flood estimation or drainage designs using Microdrainage.

Candidates are expected to have a valid UK driving licence.

This exciting opportunity will offer the chance to join a supportive team based in Nottingham. You can be based in any location and will be required to attend sites in the local area.

As a Flood Risk Advisor will have the opportunity to complete varied Flood Risk, Flood Protection and Drainage Projects for Private Sector Clients, Local Authorities and Water Companies.

As a Flood Risk Consultant you will be required to complete the following;

-Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications for flood zone 1,2 and 3.

-Flood Estimation using ReFH.

-Drainage Strategies.

-Drainage design using Microdrainage and AutoCAD.

-Due Diligence for prospective property purchases.

-Site Investigation of drainage for properties.

-Flood Surveys.

-Fire Water Studies.

-Reviewing Environmental Permits, Topographic Surveys and Lidar Surveys.
