A career in our Disputes and Claims practice, within Forensics services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients understand where they might have vulnerabilities and develop solutions to manage the risks involved. We prevent, respond to and remediate a wide range of business threats, risks and complex issues.Our team helps protect organisations by pre empting and avoiding disputes, as well as dealing with them effectively if they do happen. You'll assist with local and international dispute strategy, arbitrations, and mediations.
Who are we looking for?
In order to achieve our growth plans, we are looking to recruit a Senior Manager who is a qualified accountant with at least four years of experience post-qualification, and with a strong background in disputes.
Your skills should include:
Strong analytical skills, with ability to critically challenge a point of view
Excellent report writing, with the ability to explain complex issues in plain English
A sceptical and inquisitive mindset
Commercial outlook with an interest in the wider context of our work
Confident communicator and able to deal with people at all levels
Working on building an external network of contacts
Experience in leading cases and teams
Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with specialist experience, helping our clients deal with complex disputes from pre-claim to resolution . You will be responsible for managing and leading client facing engagements as well as driving specific business development initiatives within the team. Client facing responsibilities include:
Being the primary contact for a portfolio of clients and instructing law firms
Liaising with external contacts to source the information we require and critically reviewing that information
Reviewing financial models and complex analyses
Managing engagement set up and finances
Train, coach and supervise the work of junior team members and review their output
Drafting and/or reviewing expert reports and other client deliverables
Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
Building relationships with dispute specialists at law firms and internally to relevant industry teams
Attending conferences and external events to network with lawyers
Where will you be based?
Projects will mainly be carried out at our offices in London, with travel (international and domestic) also sometimes required to client sites and for arbitration hearings. You may also need to travel to other PwC offices for work, training and meetings. Any such requirements would be discussed with you in advance of starting a new project.
Requirements
ACA/ACCA qualified
Prior caseload in International Arbitration and Litigation
Experience in leading teams and strategy of damage calculations
Experience in drafting expert witness reports
