Job description

Our Consulting practice is focused on results, supporting our clients in solving important problems so that they can transform their business. We use our understanding of how business works and a knowledge of how the right technology in the right place can create competitive advantage.

Our clients' needs are what lead our thinking and drive our ambition. Our goal is to be our clients first choice on the issues that matter most because we deliver outcomes that matter. Clients might want us to help them manage disruption and transform their business to adapt in an ever changing world, or draw up a sustainability strategy that aligns their commercial objectives with broader environmental and social concerns.

We work with clients across the Financial Services, Government and Health Industries and the Private Sector and include household names from Government Departments, NHS Trusts, retailers, banks, multinational telecoms operators and energy companies.

You'll get to work closely with the best in industry, finance and Government in the UK and collaborate with clients and colleagues globally, bringing fresh insights and motivation to the problems they face.

PwC Research

We are a full service market research agency within the largest professional services firm in the world, and so this creates a unique positioning in the market. We bring connected insight to our clients using a variety of data sources, both primary (qualitative and quantitative) and secondary and through our business understanding. Put simply, we help our clients to better understand their customers, employees and stakeholders.

Programme

Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

What you'll do

As an Associate you'll rotate across the team working on a variety of client projects. This will cover a range of sectors, audiences (consumer, business and employee) and cover both qualitative and quantitative skill development. You'll be a key member of our project teams delivering client research programmes, this will include:

  • Attending client meetings and consulting with clients on project requirements to lead to proposal development

  • Working in a team to design and implement research methods such as questionnaires, focus groups, depth interviews, online forums and consumer workshops using a blend of traditional techniques and newer technology to understand behaviour e.g eye tracking

  • Reviewing and analysing data (both qualitative and quantitative) and creating client ready reports mostly in powerpoint containing insight to aid client decision making

  • Presenting findings to a range of audiences (internal and external).

We work with a wide range of clients including the PwC firm across the world, major high street banks and retailers, media and technology companies, leading energy providers and a range of large scale public sector bodies and regulators. Each project you work on will be different providing you a full grounding in market research over the first three years of your career with PwC. After this time you will have the option to specialise in a discipline (qualitative/quantitative), sector and /or audience of your preference.

This role will help support and meet the growth plans for PwC Research. The successful candidates will be mentored and supported by a senior member of staff, who will assist them in meeting their career aspirations and development.

What you'll gain

As part of this programme you'll sit the Market Research Society Advanced Certificate.

What you'll need

You'll need to have or be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.

While experience in research is not necessary, you'll ideally have an interest in research methodologies and be of an inquisitive nature with an interest in analysing trends in data and behaviour.
