The Macmillan Innovation team are committed to ensuring we are at the forefront of harnessing opportunities to drive better cancer patient outcomes and develop new sustainable revenue streams. The team is growing, and we're recruiting this new role to identify consumer innovation opportunities to drive Macmillan's Innovation pipeline. From open innovation call outs to trend research and engaging experts, this person will be crucial in driving what opportunities we focus on. We are building a diverse team to deliver our ambitious innovation strategy and are looking for experience from a range of sectors.
About the role
The Innovation Catalyst has expertise in cultural trends and customer insights to drive an innovation pipeline. Their goal is to find innovation growth opportunities in customer needs and emerging trends. The innovation catalyst's strength is in uncovering what consumers are missing in their lives and creating new products or services to solve this.
You will apply these findings to prioritise, recommend and test fast follow ideas that will generate impact for the charity. Working from insight to solution, across the innovation cycle your knowledge and experience of managing an innovation project will enable you to develop and test your identified opportunities.
You will work conduct workshops to collect ideas and opportunities, engage external experts to understand emerging trends and work closely with our Insight team to interrogate customer segmentation to identify unmet needs.
Success will see you source the next near-term innovation success for Macmillan, creating impact through the development of new fundraising offers and services that enable us to continue our vital cancer support services.
About you
You're driven, resourceful, and above all else - curious. You will be market obsessed, interrogating a range of sources to identify and prioritise the next scalable innovation opportunity for Macmillan. You will work with stakeholders and experts to collect ideas, problems, and opportunities.
You will have experience of working within the innovation process, with an understanding of how you identify, build, test and iterate new concepts. Ideally you will have examples of developing new products and iteration's you understand how to interrogate customer and market trends to drive new product development. You will be experienced in a variety of research and trend methods, from desk research, to customer segmentation and trend reports, with a good understanding of how to spot, prioritise and validate ideas.
