Job description

About the Team

We are PwC's Internal Audit Team and provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activities to help support the firm's operations and to improve the effectiveness of its governance, risk management and internal control. We report to the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board.

We focus on helping the firm look deeper and see further. In short, we seek to address the key risks and ultimately deliver value to the firm. It is work that really does matter and can make a difference to the firm, its partners and employees.

We are constantly evolving in line with the firm's strategy; becoming more digital; leverage technology; becoming more agile; increasing our skills and extending our collaboration with our colleagues across the Global PwC firm. All of these objectives are aimed at delivering stakeholder value and maintaining our position as a trusted advisor to the firm and to the Audit and Risk Committee.

About the Role

A career with the Internal Audit Team provides a unique and varied insight into the firm's operations, strategy and an understanding of the diverse needs of our senior stakeholders.

As a leader of the technology aspect of our work, you will gain a deep understanding of PwC's technology landscape and the complexities of technology delivery while managing the risks facing a large organisation like PwC.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • You will be required to think strategically about the existing and future technology landscape, and shape the delivery of audit and consulting services that are focussed on providing the best possible outcomes to the firm.
  • Responsibility for development of an annual plan that covers the key technology risks and delivering a variety of cyber, operational and IT audit or consulting activities.
  • Work alongside the other IT Senior Manager to develop a technology strategy, and communicate the vision to the team for delivery.
  • Provide ongoing, constructive feedback that ensures delivery of the plan and vision, as well as individual career aspirations.
  • Client relationships are fundamental to this role. You will be required to foster and nurture relationships with key stakeholders such as CIO, CISO and consistently work to maintain internal audits credibility with a variety of functions across the firm.
  • PwC UK is a member of the broader Global PwC Network and relies upon Global services for technology delivery. As a result, you will be required to work effectively in a Global manner; developing and maintaining relationships with Global Internal Audit and Global clients. This role requires you to support the Global teams to provide high-value assurance over Global services to the PwC Network of firms.
  • Delivery of projects on SaaS platforms such as Salesforce and Workday, and advise on the development of functionality to support an ecosystem of commercial, risk and client engagement processes.

You will be based with the team in One Embankment Place, London. Some travel to other sites may be needed, such as where our key clients are located e.g. Manchester, etc. PwC supports flexible working at both home and office locations.

This is an excellent opportunity to obtain a diverse experience, improve technical skills and increase knowledge of PwC. Depending on performance and team structure, there may be promotion opportunities within the team or, to other parts of the wider firm.

  • Experience and knowledge of change management at an organisational, system and people level. Ensure staff and clients embrace change.

  • Excellent ability to produce high quality, high impact reports and messages that bring clients / staff on the journey with you.
  • Keeping up to date with business and economic issues that may impact upon the operations of the firm and its risk profile.
  • Being an active team member and contributing to the team's development activities to drive opportunities to improve our operational effectiveness and quality of our work.
