Tradewind are looking to appoint an experienced teacher to play a pivotal role in accelerating progress in English across KS2. If you are keen to make an impact in an intervention-based role, look no further!

On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are looking to recruit a passionate KS2 Teacher who will be responsible for accelerating progress in English across KS2. This is a long-term position commencing January 2022 and will run until the end of the academic year. The school is located in a diverse community in Tameside and educates children from a wide variety of backgrounds. The school will offer a competitive salary between £125-185 per day and look to appoint an individual who will be dynamic, committed to inspiring change and contribute whole heartedly within the KS2 department.

About the Role

As the KS2 English Intervention Teacher, you will tasked with supporting KS2 pupils in reading and writing. You will be working with small groups of children, (mostly of whom are not meeting age related expectations) and will be challenged to build confidence, accelerate progress and develop reading and writing fluency.

An English specialist or someone with outstanding curriculum knowledge with proven success achieving rapid progress in literacy
A committed practitioner who will attain the highest standards of teaching and learning and demonstrate professionalism in every aspect of the job.
An ability to plan and deliver effective interventions to bridge gaps in learning
A reflective practitioner who will assess, record and report on pupil performance
A fantastic team player who will share best practice with others and be open minded to adopting new strategies based on advice and success of others
An efficient communicator who will regularly feedback to class teachers and work alongside them through the planning process to address targeted areas of the English Curriculum.

To join us and be successful in this role:

You must hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have experience teaching in a KS2 setting (Year 3 desirable) with excellent references to support your previous experience
Provide a CV that covers the last 10 years employment history with no gaps
Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
Have a right to work in the UK
