Job description
Lead Automation Engineer | Contract | Pharmaceutical | Northern Ireland
Position available for a Lead Automation Engineer to work client-side on a long-term assignment delivering automation expertise to support multiple capital investments, both greenfield and brownfield projects.
You will be responsible for managing all the relevant vendors and partners accountable for the delivery of the DCS control system workstream (Emerson DeltaV). Additionally, you will be the client interface, ensuring all project deliverables are met, acting as the Subject Matter Expert, and taking ownership of the full DCS implantation, from design to onsite commissioning.
As NES Fircroft continues to support our clients across Europe, this is an exciting opportunity for a DeltaV SME to step into a position with a client investing heavily across their site over the next coming years.
The position:
*12-month contract assignment, with a view to being renewed. (Outside of IR35)
*Hybrid role
*Three-year project, with further scope to be extended.
*Develop and review System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables to ensure they are compliant with client standards.
*Work with DeltaV vendor to develop systems architecture, specifications, controls strategies, sequence of operations throughout all design stages.
*Work closely with the QAIT function to ensure compliance standards are met.
*Participate in Hardware and Software FATs and SATs.
*Provide input to the development of project schedules and document trackers.
*Participate in, and support, relevant project meetings.
*Liaise with stakeholders on the overall project to ensure clear communication between all parties.
The ideal applicant for the role:
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or the Life Sciences.
*Fluent in English, written and verbal.
*Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry.
*Experience in the commissioning of DeltaV site at a GMP manufacturing site.
*Technical proficiency in controls systems, including familiarity with control panels, networking, panel/field wiring, and PLC control systems.
*Excellent computer skills, proficient in using the following Microsoft tools: Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
*Relevant Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent
