Key Deliverables:

Manage a small team of waste specialists, taking responsibility for performance management, control and supervision, communications, resource management and management of systems and processes.
Provision of waste management advice/communications to various internal and external stakeholders, including our regulators.
Oversee the off-site disposal of waste consignments (rad and non-rad) and ensure site waste operation activities are executed safely and compliantly
Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.
Commit to the continuous improvement of waste activities and contribute to programme strategy development.
Provision of BAT studies, sampling/analysis plans, characterisation reports and other similar waste enabling activities.
Deputise as required for the Head of Waste

Qualifications and Experience:

ESSENTIAL - HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification (NQF Level 5) in a scientific, environmental or engineering discipline.
ESSENTIAL - Knowledge of environmental issues including practices, policies, legislation and stakeholders relating to radioactive and non-radioactive waste management
ESSENTIAL - Relevant experience in nuclear industry, ideally in areas of waste management
ESSENTIAL - Experience transporting dangerous goods and radioactive material

Progression is available within the pay bands which does exceed the higher end of the range provided
