Job description

We are currently looking for a Logistics Operations Manager to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the logistics solution for our Ecom project. The key focus will be on the optimisation of a 3PL selection, relationship, SLA setting, systems interface and KPI's. This will involve being part of the project team as well as being part of the wider Ultimate Healthcare Warehouse and Logistics team becoming an essential and integrated function in the business. This role is for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract period to cover the project assignment. There may be the possible to extend this role beyond 6 months dependent on ongoing business need.

Ultimate Healthcare has tripled in size over the last 4 years to become the leading independent provider, which manufactures pressure care mattresses, hospital beds and wheelchairs. The Role:

Provide analysis and information to enable effective 3PL selection, management and delivery of the agreed logistics solution.
Work with team members and project management to ensure achievement of all goals related to the logistics function within the Ecom environment.
Be the integral person to provide information and intelligence to develop, track, review and report on Ecom logistics control related to reflect performance and delivery.
Ensure the achievement of the project plan logistics deliverables and become the business SME
Understand and optimise systems to ensure accurate and timely data interchange and inventory accuracy.
Work with the Ultimate Healthcare Ops team to ensure harmonies are achieved and cross functional learning.
Develop a solution which enables a stand alone Ecom function within the Ultimate Healthcare operation which is scalable and could potentially be brought in-house should the business require in the future.
Work closely with the Operations, Commercial and Strategy teams, to execute the plan to optimise the delivery of our finished goods via the Ecom channel.
Lead in the development of an optimised order fulfillment strategy.
Gather, analyse and report on business data to help support key business and strategic decision making.
Create, maintain and report metrics that measure and drive timely, effective and successful execution of the project.

About you:

Immediately available and ready to take on 6 month interim assignment., Previous experience managing the performance of 3PL and 4PL providers is essential.
5+ years in logistics management, warehouse management and distribution. Project management knowledge as an SME.
Expertise in optimising carriers' networks to meet the premium needs of B2C channel
A solutions' driven quick thinker to resolve issues within the project as they arise.
Expertise in utilization of EDI, WMS & ERP systems
Experience in networking and stakeholder management
Process driven with a keen eye for detail
Excellent negotiator at all levels
Experience within a registered ISO accredited company would be advantageous with evidence of working within set quality procedures
Pick, pack, dispatch and distribution experience
Complex product mix with varied dimensions
Working knowledge of Far East supply & domestic chains
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
