Job description
Are you an experienced Maintenance Design Engineer having worked within the Automation field?
Is a salary of between £40088- £50408 suitable for you (dependent on location and experience)?
Would you like to work for Royal Mail, updating and automating their distribution centres?
Are you able to travel to various locations when required, nationwide (fully expensed)?
Can you commit to a contract that will last to at least August 2023?
Happy to work remotely the majority of the time, with travel to National distribution centres, fully expensed?

Job purpose
*Works with project teams and automation suppliers to ensure full maintenance integration of assets during early development and deployment
*Contributes to the development of technical maintenance requirements and schedule including recommended spares inventory for new automation assets to project timescales
*Contributes to the planning of maintenance integration activities in line with a contract project schedule including build quality reviews

*Self-motivated individual, capable of working within a team of professionally qualified engineers
*Contributes to the maintenance integration of new/significant upgrades to automation systems, automation systems deployment contracts are up to circa. £10 million.
*Ability to engage and communicate effectively with Internal and External Key Stakeholders which include - Original Equipment Manufacturers & Suppliers, RM Project Management Teams, Operational Design, Engineering Team Strands, Group Procurement
Key Skills
*Experience and Qualifications required for this specific role
*Recognised Qualification in an Engineering, Technical or Scientific Discipline (Level 6 e.g. (BSc) hons, LV6 NVQ)
*Recognised Accreditation from an Institution or Professional Counselling Body (Incorporated or Chartered Level)
*Recognised Qualification in Health & Safety Management (IOSH)
*Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to effectively communicate and translate technical engineering knowledge to a wide range of audiences
*Good knowledge of automated processes, equipment & machinery
*Good knowledge of automation maintenance activities and scheduling
*Good knowledge of the review and handover of OEM maintenance procedures and task-based risk assessments
*Experience of investigating automation defects
*Good knowledge of spares management and processes
*Able to conduct detailed data analysis, apply systematic problem-solving techniques, and effectively prioritise available resources in a programme environment.
Location
National role - frequent travel required with a headquarters of either Swindon or nearest RM Business Location
