Duties/ResponsibilitiesAn opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our expanding contract based across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and LincolnshireThe hours of work are: 08:00-17:00Role Responsibilities:Isolates defective equipment from power supply, checks visually for faults, tests mechanical parts for faults, isolates the problem areas and take corrective action to repair the problem.Conducts preventative maintenance on machines and equipment by checking for smooth operation of the same and replacing worn and defective parts.The installation of electrical systems and associated equipment followed up with the appropriate certification.Assistance in the preparation of estimates / quotations as required.Taking an active part in the on call system, which may require the applicant to become an authorised person (Electrical, Confined Space or Pressure Systems).Conform to safety rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.Multi-skilled background with a good understanding of HVAC systems. A good understanding of High Voltage systems would also be an advantage.Provision of information on progress of allocated work orders.Adherence to all current company procedures.Adherence to the Quality Management System applied to all M&E systems.Developing of relationships with all clients and potential new customers and work within a siteteam of field and office based staff.Ensuring continuous improvement and drive for value for money.Provide general Electrical/ HVCA/ Building services maintenance support on all buildings and plant with minor fabric works/making good.Implement all electrical maintenance and corrective works on the site in accordance with Maintenance Instructions, EMCOR UK and site-specific proceduresPerform testing and inspecting of Electrical Installations in accordance with industry standards (if required).Provide accurate feedback and information including but not limited to completed test sheets, routine rounds inspection sheets and work dockets containing durations of maintenance activities and observationsEnsure that all plant and systems are maintained and operated in order to provide maximum efficiency, availability and reliabilityCarry out remedial and/or refurbishment works arising from breakdown or maintenance inspectionsRespond to reactive Maintenance/Breakdown/Minor Fabric works from the helpdesk and carrying out remedial work as necessary, providing feedback information to customer and helpdesk as required.Assume the role of Authorised Person (Electrical).Develop and retaining knowledge of site system failures and their causes and effects.Carry out condition-based monitoring surveysCarry out minor new works installations and testing (if required)Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of plant and adjacent areasUndertake defect surveys on electrical plant and systems and providing reports as requested by engineering managementAssist Site FM in providing information for technical and incident reports.Develop and retain a full knowledge of the operating characteristics of the site generation plant in order to provide monitoring attendance when running for emergency or test purposesProvide holiday and sickness cover for shift colleagues.Perform other reasonable duties as agreed with site FM managementManage EMCOR UK sub-contractors including site inductions, health & safety and competency information.Manage EMCOR UK sub-contractors when faults are identified, obtaining relevant quotes in accordance with EMCOR UK best practices.Managing new and old assets as and when necessary, ensuring CAFM system is kept updated with new information which should be provided to the Helpdesk.Reactive and PPM maintenance to be carried out in accordance with pre agreed SLAs.Person SpecificationPerson Specification:Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ & C&G 2382 -th Edition, minimum requirements ( 18th Edition )C&G 2391-10 Inspection & Testing, & C&G 2391-20 Design & Verification preferred but not requiredExperience of installation, testing and maintenance of LV distribution systemsExperience of standby power systems including prime movers and UPSExperience of safe working practices and permit to work systemsDemonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basisUnderstanding of A/C systems and controlsBe able to communicate effectively and have flexible approach to work patternsBenefits20 days annual leavePension schemesCycle schemeFlexible Working policy where applicable and feasibleEmployee benefit discounts including childcare vouchersPersonal Development opportunities: our appraisal process is designed to identify your training needs and the personal development goals needed to progress your career.Creating Balance; our steering group promotes Diversity and Inclusion throughout our business.Mental Health and Wellbeing; Mind is our EMCOR UK charity, and as such mental health and wellbeing is an important topic for us.
