Job SpecificationReporting to (title)Senior Marketing Effectiveness ManagerDivision DescriptionLed by the recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer, we are creating Group Marketing function which will develop a strong brand for Bank of Ireland, shaping and delivering a differentiated position for the Bank in the markets in which we operate. The Group Marketing function will be underpinned by the following strategic imperatives crafted to transform the Bank of IrelandEquality StatementBank of Ireland Group is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to encouraging an inclusive workplace which values and benefits from the diversity of our workforce.Description of business unitThe Group Customer Analytics team sits within the Group Marketing function and supports our customers, colleagues and partners across Ireland, UK and Internationally.In a changing market environment, where customer expectations continue to grow and there is a growing demand for personalised customer experiences, Customer Analytics is owning the charge to enable and deliver this personalised experience through data analytics and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence. To deliver on this vision the Customer Analytics team demonstrate internal and external data and apply data analytics, machine learning and visualisation techniques to maximise the value of this data and deliver positive outcomes for our customers and our business. The complex challenges the team faces means there is considerable opportunity for team members to grow and develop both their technical and non-technical skills to achieve their full potential at Bank of Ireland.Purpose of the RoleThe Marketing Effectiveness Analyst will be responsible for evaluating the impact of analytical and marketing activities. The role will be focussed on demonstrating the commercial return from a variety of different actvities, enabling the business to make robust, data driven decisions.Key AccountabilitiesWorking with large data sets to extract and combine data efficiently.Applying a range of analytical techniques to generate insights on the performance of group activities.Bring excellent problem solving and an understanding of the required outcomes to ensure we are delivering robust evaluations of our return on investment.Working closely with colleagues in marketing and the wider business to ensure that the analytics we deliver can lead into clear and concrete recommendations, driving strong commercial outcomes.Bringing a strong attention to detail and a clear focus on quality to ensure work is delivered to a high standard.Contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment across Customer AnalyticsWhat is the opportunityYou will have the opportunity to apply a range of analytical techniques to tackle complex problems.You will get the chance to work closely with colleagues from across marketing and the wider business to understand project objectives and develop appropriate analytical solutions to ensure that we can evaluate whether projects are delivering the results encouraged by the business.By identifying clear insights from your work you will be able to make recommendations that can have a tangible impact on commercial outcomes and the bottom line for the Bank.Essential QualificationsDegree level qualification in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Analytics, or equivalent quantitative field.Essential Skills & ExperienceExperience of working in a data analytics role and translating data into useful insights.Strong technical skills including working with large datasets and experience with at least one of SQL, Tableau, Python, R, SAS.Proven attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.Excellent time management.Strong team ethic and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of different partners.Desirable Qualifications, Skills & ExperienceExperience working with web analytics data and Google Big Query.Knowledge of how different marketing channels drive performance and the associated key performance measures.Experience of statistical modelling techniques, ideally within a marketing environment (e.g. multi-channel attribution, marketing mix modelling)Key CompetenciesOne Group, one team - SelfAccountable - SelfCustomer Focused - SelfAgile - SelfManage Risk - SelfWhere Agency assistance is required Bank of Ireland Recruitment Team will engage directly with suppliers.
