Job description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our new Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Contact Centre based in Martley, Worcestershire.
This role will require you to undertake assessment and analysis of long-term trends of service users with a variety of physical, cognitive, sensory and/or learning disabilities. You will make recommendations on the TEC equipment required within the homes of service users, which will appropriately meet their long-term needs.
You will provide clinical support, advice and engagement for service users with complex needs and provide TEC awareness training/guidance to prescribers or internal employees with support from the TEC Product Manager. You will also provide clinical/TEC outcomes and usage specialist advice through evidence-based practice to prescribers on the use of appropriate equipment, specifically in relation to specialist or complex cases.
Undertake assessment for equipment needs of service users with a variety of physical, cognitive, sensory and/or learning disabilities
Provide clinical 2nd line support to service users and practitioners where user's needs are more complex
To provide Safeguarding and clinical triage and escalation routes for any clients when necessary
Contribute and support the development and roll out of new services and initiatives
Work closely with Prescribers to promote effective partnership working across Adult Social Care, Therapy Services, Community Nursing, domiciliary care agencies, housing and other agencies as necessary
Write timely professional reports/records and action plans in line with professional guidelines that comply with appropriate record keeping policies
This position may require you to enter CQC regulated Care Homes. As such, and in line with Government legislation introduced on November 11th 2021, you will be required to provide proof of full vaccination or medical exemption status as a condition of employment.
What are we looking for?
A BSc degree in Occupational Therapy
Current HCPC professional registration
Previous experience of working as an Occupational Therapist with patients with long-term and deteriorating medical conditions, including palliative care and an understanding of the impact of these conditions on patient's lives
Experience of undertaking holistic assessments
Previous experience of working in a similar service is preferred but not essential
Current UK driving licence (minimum 3 years) and access to your own vehicle
