Job description
We are looking for a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team at our Kent and Medway Wheelchair Service Centre based in Ashford to provide maternity cover on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months.
We are a fast growing business and a leading provider of Healthcare Service solutions including Wheelchair Services. We work closely with NHS and Social Care Organisations providing a complete outsourced wheelchair service that significantly reduces costs, delivers better quality and an enhanced patient experience.
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will provide administration and clinical support to a team of Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Engineers.
The Role:
Preparing clinic rooms for clinicians such as ensuring correct paperwork is available, cleaning and replacement of postural support items and PPE.
Organising the necessary paperwork and information gathering from notes prior to clinical assessment.
Raising orders, monitoring delivery of items, co-ordinating multiple items for a single handover to facilitate the efficient supply and handover of equipment to service users.
Typing up of notes, filing, scanning and other admin tasks as required
Manage a stock of accessories at the depots, ready for issue on day of appointment
Prepare all equipment for therapists' appointments each day and return un-used equipment to stock
Update the clinical and equipment records on the database as required
You may be required to assist with service user assessments in clinic on occasion
Sharing the responsibility of ensuring electronically held data is clean, relevant and accurate
Safeguard at all times the children, young people and vulnerable adults with whom the service comes into contact
About you:
Organised, flexible and pro-active
Confident to work independently
Fully competent in the use of computers with good knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office packages (particularly Excel and Word)
An ability to clearly and professionally communicate sensitive information in written, and verbal form to service users and staff
Previous experience of working with vulnerable people would be an advantage
Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential

An annual salary of £19,445.72 per annum
